Cleveland History

Cleveland is the county seat of Bradley County. It was established in 1837. There is some disagreement regarding the naming of the city. It is said that the city was named in honor of Colonel Benjamin Cleveland, who was a commander during the American Revolution at the Battle of Kings Mountain. However, it is also said that the city was named after John Cleveland, an early settler.
